WALT: Write a Recount
This week Mrs clark gave us a task to write a recount about the waiho bridge falling down I personally enjoyed this activity.
Waiho Bridge Washes away!!!
The Waiho Bridge washed away on Tuesday 26th of March atb 5:30 pm 2019. The bridge washed away because of all the Torrential rain and the river being so high. The occurrence of the incident was totally unexpected. Now the bridge has to be rebuilt from scrap! The bridge is now currently closed. It happened when all the water got way too high and the water came up and pushed the concrete up. The tourists and some of the citizens are now stuck on either side of the bridge. people are working on the bridge and it may take a while to be rebuilt. People say that Haast is experiencing a one in a 100 year flood! Some schools are closed due to the bad weather. Some parts of Westland have up to 800mm of Rain now that's a lot of rain!!
