For this Task we had to find a Newsworthy Olympic moment and Write about it. we had to include who what when why where and how. 

My Visual Myth

 Visual Myth

After I had finished my Myth we had the Challenge to make it visual. I made a google slide and copy and pasted my Myth onto the slides. I also added pictures that related to my Myth. I also made a screencastify of me telling the story.

Myth

 For Reading we had to Choose a natural phenomenon and create a myth on how it came to be or how it was created. 

I did my Myth on how Icebergs are created. I have added my story below. I enjoyed Making my story because it was fun to make up a story on how something happened. 

Azul’s Lost Parents

The Story of how Icebergs came to be.

It’s 1422 and Azul is a young girl living in Antarctica. Her parents are part of the Icelandic tribe... Well they were. Her parents ran away with her when she was only 6 years old. Azul is now 9 and is by herself. Her parents went to catch some fish and they never came back. She didn’t know that they would never come back. 

Azul is now travelling Antarctica looking for her parents. She has no luck so far. The only thing she has of her parents is a necklace with a pure gold chain and a Deep blue sapphire in the middle. One day Azul was doing her usual thing, scouting the Icy surface for any trace of her parents when she saw a small set of houses on the snowy surface. As she gets nearer she realizes that the small set of houses is part of the Icelandic tribe. It had expanded since she had last seen it.

Azul spots two kids playing in the snow near her. She wonders if she should go over there and say hello. In the end she decides to go up to them. “Hello” she says “my name is Azul, what’s yours?”. She waits until they reply. “My name is Helada and this is my Twin Sister Nevada.” says one of the girls. “Our names mean Ice and snow in Icelandic” Azul thinks that's pretty cool. “What are you doing here?” asks Helada. “I am looking for my parents,” She said. “Do you want to come with me to find them?” “Yes we Will!” Nevada says.

So Azul, Nevada and Helada head out on their search. They had travelled for miles when all of a sudden Azul slipped and fell in the icy river. She doesn’t know how to swim so she calls out to Nevada and Helada. They don’t know how to swim either. So she calls out to the icelandic god, Carambano. She says”Carambano please help me. I'm drowning. Save me!” because Azul was pure-hearted Carambano gave her a second life. She made Azul an Icy Cliff. So when you see an Iceberg break off the Icy Cliff it's Azul sending Nevada, Helada and lots of other spirits on a quest to look for her lost parents. She sends them out to sea and all around the world in hope of finding her parents. But if they have no luck she melts them and brings their spirits back and sends them in another direction. To this day she is still looking for her lost parents.

For reading we are reading a book called sunken forest. in the book the boy called matt meets an eel and he calls her Elsa.

For Writing we did setting in me. basically we had to choose a place that we alike in some ways and brainstorm adjectives that compare us to that place that we chose. I chose a beehive for my place.

Ancient Carriage found In Pompeii

Today we learnt about this ancient carriage in Pompeii. it was discovered among all the ash and volcanic rock from the volcano Vesuvius when it erupted in 79 AD. Archaeologists are digging up the ancient carriage that they think was used for bringing or returning the bride to her wedding and other ceremonies. 

Our big question was should artefacts be moved or stay where they are found?

I think that they should be moved so they don't get damaged, stolen or lost.

NASA gets ready to Land space probe on Asteroid Bennu

NASA have been preparing  to launch a space probe to the asteroid Bennu. it will be launched onto the asteroid on 20th October 2020.
